    Biomass and Waste CHP
Solid biomass or waste CHP plants typically employ a high pressure steam boiler and a steam turbine generator.

The high pressure steam from the boiler passes to the steam turbine to generate electricity, steam extracted from the turbine provides process or space heating.

How a biomass CHP plant works

Biomass CHP Sankey Diagram

The biomass or waste fuel can either be supplied from an off site resource or arisings from a production process such as papermaking, brewing or saw milling.

Gasification can also be used for the conversion of biomass or waste to energy however it is a less well proven technology.
